Google Democratic & Republican National Conventions
Google and YouTube were named official tech partners for both the Democratic and Republican 2012 National Conventions. The 20,000 sq. ft. Google hub was constructed in the heart of Charlotte, erected from colorful boxcars. The brand provided live-streaming media studios, private meeting rooms, large conference rooms for panel discussions, and tech lounges allowing convention-goers to work remotely with ease. The space was equipped with Cellciege charging stations, Google+ Hangout pods, beverage and snack bars, and a Google Goodies station to fulfill all your convention flair needs.

Each city hosted viewing parties for the nominee acceptance speeches the last night of the conventions. The Google spaces were themed Americana for the festivities, featuring backyard summer decor such as grass turf, adirondack chairs, and strung bistro lights. Chef stations offering local food favorites adorned the space and a live DJ performed beneath patriotic red, white and blue neon light bursts. Galleries of American Innovation and American Creativity were featured at the evening parties. In true Google spirit, the exhibits celebrated the history of quirky and lesser-acknowledged inventions that have proven to be game-changers to the modern era, including Post-it® notes and the emoticon.
